A simple recipe for homemade blueberry cobbler flavored syrup, perfect for drinks or desserts. It's made with fresh blueberries, sugar, brown sugar, and flavored with butter extract and vanilla.
Combine 2 cups blueberries, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Simmer for 7-10 minutes. Smash the berries during simmering. Remove from heat and add a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon butter extract, and 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract). Strain the mixture, saving the pulp if desired. Let the syrup cool completely. Bottle the syrup; it will be good for 2 weeks refrigerated.
